Variante GR 11.1 - Etapa 3: Refugio de Lizara - Canfranc
Refugio de Lizara - Collado del Bozo - Collado de Rigüelo - Canfranc pueblo
The GR 11 to Candanchú starts in Lizara and crosses the plain, very near the dolmen following the traces of a trail that climbs to a pastoral hut. Next to it, a path starts to climb to the l'Articuso ravine, below the walls of the Bernera massif, and summits at the Collado del Bozo (1,995 m).
The path descends from this pass to the right (south), follows a series of switchbacks and continues along the mountainside, then, after passing by the full Ibón de Izagra on the left, it skirts a small chasm and a pastoral hut. After crossing the Cubilar ravine, the route follows the path that runs along the entire left bank of the Plana de Napazal. At the grassy spur that divides the Napazal and Rigüelo valleys, the GR 11 runs into the uphill Aspe path that leads from the Refugio de Saleras. The path borders the head of this small valley, passing the Refugio de Rigüelo a few metres below. A rough section, which alternates between meadows and scree, leads uphill to the Collado de Torbillón/Rigüelo (2,039 m).
A trail, which runs through the pass between the Borau and Canfranc valleys, heads north towards the Refugio Militar López Huici. A few meters below the hut, a signpost indicates the path to follow and, from a small plain (Majada de Lecherín Alto), the GR turns east to descend a rocky escarpment and heads south towards the Mallata de Lecherín Bajo (source and pastoral hut). The meadows give way to the forest and, after crossing four streams, reaches the Refugio de Gabardito (no groundskeeper). A huge ash tree leads to the trail that leads uphill from Villanúa. Following it downhill, pass the source of the Abetazos on the right and take a steep path that to cross the Os Arones o de los Meses ravine. Passing by the ruins of what were forest nurseries, the GR 11 follows an old walled road that leads to the village of Canfranc.

GR 11 TOMO I. EUSKADI, NAVARRA Y ARAGÓN
El GR 11 o Senda Pirenaica recorre los Pirineos desde el cabo Higer, frente al Atlántico, hasta el Cap de Creus, ante el Mediterráneo, a través de las comunidades de Euskadi, Navarra, Aragón y Cataluña, y el Principat de Andorra. Son más de 1.000 km por la montaña hispana más agreste, por los principales paisajes y ecosistemas de la cordillera pirenaica, atravesando los parques nacionales de Ordesa y Monte Perdido, y Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici, varios parques naturales y, en tierras aragonesas, los Monumentos Naturales de los Glaciares Pirenaicos.
Este primer volumen recoge las 22 etapas del GR 11 correspondientes a Euskadi, Navarra y Aragón.
